SDK
A packaged library that wraps an API so you do not have to call it by hand.
An SDK is the official client library for an API: it handles authentication, retries, streaming, and the request shapes, so your code looks like a normal function call instead of HTTP plumbing.
It is worth using one, with two caveats. First, the SDK pins a provider's mental model: its types, its streaming behaviour, its error types. If you may switch providers later, keep the provider-specific calls behind your own thin interface. Second, SDKs lag new API features, so a raw HTTP call is sometimes the only way to use what just shipped.
