Privacy
Privasi
A property of information: who can see it, who can use it, and who cannot be told.
Privacy is about the relationship between a person and information about them. Confidentiality is a narrower idea: keeping information from the wrong people. Privacy also covers the right to not be observed, not be profiled, and not have your data used to train something you never agreed to.
That last part is new and unsettled. Whether training on a person's writing counts as a use of their data is being argued in several jurisdictions, and the answers differ. Until it settles, the safe reading is that a person's content should not train a model without their consent.
For an organisation, the practical version is a short list: what personal data you hold, where it goes, who can see it, how long it stays, and what a person can do about it. If you cannot answer those five questions, you do not have a privacy programme, you have a set of files.
