License
Lisensi
The legal permission to use something, and the conditions attached to it.
A license is the legal permission to use software, a model, or a dataset, together with the conditions that come with it: what you may do, what you must do, and what you cannot do.
Software licenses range from permissive, where you can do almost anything as long as you keep the notice, to copyleft, where derived work must stay open, to non-commercial, which forbids revenue use outright, to research-only, which forbids product use entirely.
For AI specifically, the question gets layered: the code, the weights, the training data, and the licence attached to each may be under different terms. A permissive code licence does not make the weights permissive. Before a model goes into a product, read the licence for the weights, not just the one for the repository, and check that your use falls inside it.
