Generative AI
AI Generatif
AI that produces new content: text, images, audio, code, video.
Generative AI is the part of the field most people mean by "AI". It creates rather than classifies: instead of telling you the email is spam, it writes a reply; instead of tagging the photo, it draws a new one. Underneath, the system learns the distribution of a kind of content and samples new examples from it. That is why the output can be fluent and still factually wrong, and why the same request can give two different answers.
